Usually Pinoy men’s fashion trend is based on western country’s trend and just made few changes on wardrobe that will fit our hot weather. In the recent New York Fashion Week it is shown that the major trend is Ivy League Prep. Classic American sportswear is the inspiration of designers a few years ago. This wardrobe composed of coverall, plaid jackets, selvedge jeans, and wrinkled jackets.
In this year 2010, the wardrobes are upgraded to tailored preppy classic but with the touch of the previous season trend. For this season the wardrobe usually compose of Double-breasted suits, slim gingham button-downs, plaid-on-plaid, denim shirts, cuffed trousers and shorts, rolled-up jeans, white denim, espadrilles, boat shoes, aviator sunglasses, and vintage leather book bags.
Urban athlete is in for this season in which sportswear designers continue to blend the style of athletic apparel and street or urban wear. The wardrobe for this season looks cool and smarty. It is really important to invest on good wardrobe with nice fabric. This wardrobe characterize by Knee-length nylon anoraks, Herrington jackets, scoop-neck T-shirts and tank tops, horizontal-striped polo shirts, parachute pants, drawstring detailing, piping along pants (or in the lining of a jacket), tennis shoes, mesh, orange, and lots of white.
For this season, contemporary menswear collection is also introduced which includes the Safari getaway look characterized by safari jacket, featherweight transparent shirts, pleated shorts, desert boots, aviator sunglasses, warm and nude tones, and straw hats.
While the minor trends includes the leather jacket which are typically seen in colder months so for us pinoy men that would be in the end of the year. Leather bomber is also in usually layering it over a scoop neck T-shirt and pre wrinkled cuffed short. You could also wear limited edition sneakers and a fedora which are guessed to be in. Apparel that has multiple blocks of color on one single piece is also a minor trend for this season.
Whatever the trend it might be, Pinoy Men’s Fashion always stands out as they collaborate the western trend with the kind of weather we have. We cannot simple imitate they trend as it will be uncomfortable for us. Just keep in mind that you must look great and comfortable at the same time.
